Public Speaking Classroom Policies
In this class, students will learn good public speaking skills of Poise, Voice, Life, Eye Contact, Gestures, and Speed in order to deliver clear and engaging speeches in front of an audience.
Materials needed every day
- CHARGED chromebook
- Headphones
- Pen or pencil
- Planner
- Paper- 5 sheets for your folder
- Folders will stay in class
Class policies
- Be Kind
- Be honest
- Work Hard
- Be prepared with all materials
- Do the “Do Now” as soon as you get to class
- Make up all work from when you are absent -- Google Classroom
- Don’t chew gum in class
- Late work will have points deducted
- You may not go back to your locker
Grading
- All work posted in Google Classroom. Check this daily.
- All speeches and projects will be awarded points.
- There will be homework in the class.
Participation:
- All students start with 100 points
- You keep your points by being prepared for class, working hard and acting appropriately in class, and doing your work on time.
- Each violation of class policies will result in a deduction of 5 points from your participation grade
- Three lates to class without a pass is a lunch detention
Other Grades
- Points for given for each project we do in class
- One quiz will be given on PVLEGS- worth 100 points
- Final project worth 200 points
