Welcome to WMS!

My name is Maria Mensinger and I am proud to be the Assistant Principal of Warren Middle School, home of the Wolverines.

Middle school is a time for change, which can be exciting and also a bit challenging. Our students enter as children and leave as official “teenagers” with lots of growth in between. While they happily embrace having a locker, changing classrooms and meeting new friends, students also start to take on more
responsibility. As parents it can be challenging to watch our children maneuver new territory, especially with the occasional misstep. Please know that we recognize that students are going to make mistakes as they find their way. Our goal is always for our students to learn from their mistakes and move on.

All of our students participate in our Character Education/SEL program, which focuses on monthly themes of kindness, empathy, and understanding differences. Our overall building theme is WMS is Humble and Kind. We will be sending regular communication home regarding Character education and hope to have afternoon/evening parent meetings to broaden our discussions.
