Ring in the Winter with Singing! 

Songs that celebrate winter and holiday traditions from around the world

Performances by 1st and 2nd graders

Friday, Dec 7, 2018 @ 2:15 pm - Central School Gym

Attire: Students should dress in holiday/ winter clothes. "Ugly" sweaters are encouraged (but not required.)

First graders need a pair of mittens -  Please no athletic jerseys or tees with obvious slogans or logos

 Grade 1 

In the Window (Traditional Chanukah song)

Curriculum elements: Culture/seasonal, duple meter rhythm, octave singing range

Duermete Nino (Traditional Mexican Christmas song)

Curriculum elements: Culture/foreign language, duple meter rhythm, expressive singing

Three Little Kittens (Nursery Rhyme)

Curriculum elements: Culture/seasonal, compound meter rhythm, drama/story song

 

Grade 2

Ner Li (Chanukah song by L. Kipnis and M. Tarbuth)

Curriculum elements: Culture/foreign language, duple meter rhythm, expressive singing

Chrisimas Day in the Morning ((Agrarian carol from Bedfordshire)

Curriculum elements: Culture/seasonal, compound meter rhythm, cumulative song
