Reading: Unit 3: Reading to Learn About the World

  • Readers read information books by reading the words and the text features.
  • Readers make sense of their reading by keeping the topic in mind and the details that teach about that topic.
  • Readers read with wonderings in mind and learn more about what they wonder.
  • Readers talk with partners to retell about what they learned and compare this to what others learned.
