Archived FID Lessons Week of April 20-24

I have sent you emails with login information for Raz-Kids and Literacy Footprints. This week, we will begin using these sites. If you have not logged in yet, please do so as soon as possible so that your child will be able to complete this week's assignments.  If you have any problems logging in, please let me know.

If you are looking for books to read independently (during field trip days, weekends or other times), please choose any book from your "bookshelf" in Literacy Footprints. Log in using your Literacy Footprints account. You can also read any book in Level Up on Raz-Kids.

If you are looking for books to read independently (during field trip days, weekends or other times), please choose any book from your "bookshelf" in Literacy Footprints. Log in using your Literacy Footprints account. You may also read any books from Level Up in Raz-Kids and complete the quiz. 

 
1st Grade:
  • Watch my video using the Eagle Eye reading strategy: Video 
  • Log onto Raz-Kids and reread Bake Sale. Take the quiz and record yourself reading using the recording feature I demonstrated on Raz-Kids. (See above)
  • Answer the following question in your journal: What is the genre of the story? Describe a few examples of how you know.  In addition, if you wish, draw a picture of your favorite part.
  • Reread any books of your choice from your reading bag in Literacy Footprints or from Level Up on Raz-Kids.

  •  Watch my Raz-Kids tutorial and book introduction video here:  Raz-Kids  
  • Log onto my Raz-kids page and open up assignments. Read Darby’s Birthday Party and record your answer to the following questions: 1) What was the problem in the story? 2) How was the problem solved?
  • Sight word practice on iReady (lesson 30) If needed, sign in through your school google account: Sight word game 

 

1st Grade:

  •  Watch my Raz-Kids tutorial and book introduction video here: Raz-Kids 
  • Log onto my Raz-Kids page and open up your assignments. Read Bake Sale and record a retelling : the most important events from the beginning, middle and end of the story.

  • Reread The Monkey and the Crocodile: LINK (can access through your new Literacy Footprints account ) 
  • Watch this video to learn how to record yourself reading an online book using flipgrid: Video link
  • Record yourself reading any six pages of The Monkey and the Crocodile on flipgrid.
  • Answer the following questions in your journal: How did the monkey outsmart the crocodile? Write about his clever plan.
