Important Information: Pest Management

Skip Navigation

Woodland Families,

On Monday, September 17th a staff member discovered an in ground yellow jacket nest near the front entrance of our building and immediately notified administration. Mr. Pate, Supervisor of Building and Grounds and I considered a range of management options to ensure the safety of all students, staff and visitors.  The choice to use a pesticide to treat the area was based on a review of other available options and it was determined that these options would not be effective and/or reasonable.  Please see the attached information regarding the removal of the nest.   If you have any questions or concerns please contact me directly.

Kindly,

Jeff Heaney
