Very Sad News from Woodland

Dear Woodland Families,

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I am writing to inform you that one of our beloved paraprofessionals, Ms. Jerilyn Mulvaney passed away today after a very short and unexpected illness.   Throughout her years at Woodland School Ms. Mulvaney has touched the lives of every single student and staff member.   Ms. Mulvaney was full of life, full of laughter and loved every child as if he or she were her own.  Her infectious smile, kind heart and dedication to Woodland School will never be forgotten.

We are here to support your child through this difficult time.  Counselors, teachers and support staff from Woodland and across the district will be available to students, staff and parents.   If your child needs additional support, a resource you may want to reach out to is the Richard Hall Community Mental Health Center at 908-526-4100.  Please see the link for more information related to Children and Grief.  Please contact our school counselor, Mrs. Diane Langworthy or me if you or your child have any questions or require any assistance.

I will be having a special meeting for all Woodland staff tomorrow at 8am so staff can be together and prepare for the day with the students.  The plan is to keep the day as normal as possible and to provide necessary supports.

Please join me in keeping Ms. Mulvaney’s family in your thoughts during this extremely difficult time.

Sadly,

Jeff Heaney
