A Day
The Girls Basketball closed out their regular season on Friday with a narrow loss vs top ranked Hillsborough by a score of 42-40. The girls showed grit and determination battling back from an 11 point halftime deficit, holding Hillsborough to 9 total points in the second half. WMS took the lead late in the fourth but were unable to hold on in the closing minute of play. Bri Duque was on fire from behind the arc, hitting 4 threes from downtown, leading all scorers with 12. Thelma Ikejibe chipped in with 9 points of her own and double digit rebounds.
Come cheer on the girls this Friday as they take on the winner of Montgomery vs Clinton in the second round of the playoffs.
Congratulations to eighth graders, Aadya Bhushan and Erich Dong for their outstanding performance in Saturday’s National History Challenge.
