Algebra Help Club (PM Club)

Do you need help? This is a "drop-in" club being offered to students currently enrolled in Algebra at WMS. Come hang out with us in a relaxing setting where you can do your homework with your friends, or get extra help on something you had trouble with in class or on a test.

Archery (PM Club)

Art Crew (PM Club)

The Art Crew Club will be for students who want to help enhance the Middle School with their art work. Students will work each week to research, design, and execute different pieces of art/displays that they will see throughout the building. By giving students choices in the type of art they want to display, they will become more proud of their school and hopefully encourage others to get creative as well.

Art Magazine (PM Club)

If you love to create art and want to see it published on our school website, then this is the place for you. In Art Magazine we work as a group to write, draw, paint and design our very own magazine. Come learn about publishing and how a design studio runs. Work with other students to create a magazine filled with your art.

Astronomy and the Night Sky (PM Club)

Do you know how fast you are moving through space, or how far away from Earth the closest star is? If you are curious about what's in the sky besides birds and airplanes, come join us. We will learn how to locate celestial objects in the night sky, watch for meteor showers, follow developments from NASA, and much more! Open to 8th graders.

Back Stage Club (PM Club)

The students in the backstage club will learn to operate all audio and lighting equipment necessary for various school functions.

Board Games (PM Club)

The goal of the Board Game Club is to promote socialization, build self awareness and practice communication skills among students.

Book Club (PM Club)

Book lovers unite! Book club is a time to talk about all things reading: get ideas for great titles and authors, discuss what you love ( and sometimes hate!) about stories, and get ideas for new books you might want to try. We will pick books to read and discuss as a group. Come with your ideas and a love of reading!

Buddy to Buddy (PM Club)

This club provides an extension to the Character Education curriculum. The objective is to increase awareness and tolerance of students with disabilities, especially autism. Students will partner with students from the DLC . We will have pen pals, visits to each others' school, guest peakers, projects, community service.

Chess Club Adventures (PM Club)

Chess Club Adventures is for students who already know how to play chess and who enjoy pairing up with peers to play a match. This is a club of friendly competitive fun where sportsmanship and kindness are expected. Chess club members will have an opportunity to travel after school to the Dean of Chess facility in Branchburg to learn chess from International Master, Dean Ippolito (optional trip/date to be determined). Also a chess afternoon will take place on November 6th after school where middle schoolers play with ALT elementary school players in a cross grade experience. Additionally, the high school chess team may visit the after school club sessions occasionally to build rapport with the middle school chess players so they can create a larger cadre of chess players in the community. It’s a CHESS ADVENTURE!!

Creative Design (PM Club)

Are you a DIY addict? If you love to make crafts, this club is for you! You will have the opportunity to learn or improve your creativity and social skills while creating a product you can take pride in. Learn to plan projects individually and as a group.

Debate Club (PM Club)

This club is open to students in grades 8 and will be held on Tuesdays. Debate Club will delve into different types of debate such as Public Forum Debate (a form of two-on-two debate which asks debaters to discuss a current events issue) and Policy Debate (a form of debate competition in which teams of two advocate for and against a resolution that typically calls for policy change by the United States federal government). The club will seek to encourage the development of the following skills in the debaters: a. Use of logic in reasoning; b. Presentation skills; c. Moderate rate of delivery; d. Reasonable demeanor and style of presentation e. Professionalism in demeanor and delivery. Students will learn different debate formats and run weekly debates within the club setting. Possible competitive debates will be investigated.

Debate, Law and Justice Club (PM Club)

Do you like to argue and discuss things? Do you like hot topics? As a former lawyer, I can teach you how to truly advocate and discuss sensitive and timely issues with intelligence and support for your position. We can get involved in legal and/or social justice issues if that is what the club is interested in. This will be an opportunity for you to develop your debate skills using topics that you're interested in and to learn about the law as the club members want. This is your club and we can pursue your interests!

Jazz Band (AM Club)

Jazz band is a combination of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. It is a great opportunity to learn to play in a Jazz style and improvise. Students will sign up to audition for the Jazz band on any of the following instruments: Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drumset. Each student that signs up will receive audition music to prepare for a guide audition. Jazz band is a great opportunity to play some fun exciting music in an additional ensemble.

Math Homework Club (PM Club)

This is a quiet atmosphere where students can complete their assigned homework. The club will meet Tuesdays and it will be run by a math teacher. Often students need a little guidance and extra support for their math homework. This will be an opportunity to complete the work with math support.

Mind-Body-Spirit Teens (PM Club)

“When the mind, body and spirit work as one anything is possible.” (Criss Angel) Join us on an amazing 30 week journey to learn how to become the best you that you can be. Through physical, mindful, and creative activities we will learn about each other from each other. Open to all grade levels and types of students. We plan to take a fun field trip at the end of the year incorporating all that we have learned.

Mindful Matters Club (PM Club)

In today's society more and more children are being bullied especially with the huge growth of social media in their young minds. One way that we can deter bullying is teaching kids how to be mindful of others. In the Mindful Matters Club we will be organizing service projects to help others (both in and outside of school) while also recognizing random acts of kindness throughout the building. The Mindful Matters club encourages all students to be kind, respectful, and show gratitude.

Pep Club (PM Club)

Do you like to plan parties and events? Are you someone who loves fun? If so, come out and join the Pep Club. We plan and run school-wide events to make WMS a fun, lively and spirited place! Some of our previous events include a Halloween Costume Contest, a Thanksgiving Turkey Hunt and Find the Leprechaun's gold. The Pep Club decides which events to hold, so if you want a say in fun things happening around school, the Pep Club is for you!

Ping pong club (PM Club)

The ping pong club is open to all grade levels and skill levels. Students new to the game will learn the rules, scoring and other basics, while more experienced players can compete in match play and possibly a tournament. All materials are provided and students may bring their own equipment as well.

Select Chorus (AM Club)

Select Chorus is a club open to 7th and 8th grade singers who would like to learn additional choral music of varying styles for the WMS chorus concerts. This will also provide an opportunity for chorus students involved in the band or orchestra to have extra chorus time each week.

Songwriting Club (PM Club)

The Songwriting Club is perfect for students who love creating their own music! Students will analyze and research some of their favorite popular music and then work on strategies for writing their own song lyrics using a variety of subjects.

Teen Yoga (AM Club)

Join us for some morning Zen! This non-competitive yoga session will promote inner strength and self-confidence by focusing on flexibility, strength, relaxation and mindfulness through yoga poses and games. Led by a certified yoga instructor with a specialization in children's yoga.

Thursday Homework Help Club (PM Club)

Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will receive assistance in completing homework assignments. Students will complete assignments in a timely fashion to achieve their academic goals.

Tuesday Homework Help Club (PM Club)

Mr. Ticchio and Mrs. Scully will provide a quiet and supportive environment for students of all grades to receive help with organizing their materials, working on homework or projects and studying for assessments. Students will be encouraged to work independently or (if appropriate) with a partner. Both advisors will be in touch with the students' classroom teachers as needed to help ensure assignments are completed.

Wednesday Homework Help (PM Club)

This club will support students at all grade levels in their efforts to complete and check their homework. We will also provide guidance with organizing materials in order for students to be more productive and less stressed. Our classroom will provide a quiet environment for our students. We will provide help for students in all academic areas and will also be in touch with their teachers as necessary to ensure that assignments are worked on during club time.

World Travelers Club (PM Club)

The World Travelers Club is perfect for students who are interested in learning about other cultures. Students will get to choose places of interest from around the world to discover the unique styles of music, foods, important historical information, and fun facts too! Students are encouraged to share previous travel experiences or to research new places they hope to visit one day.
