A Capella Singing Club - Big Treble (PM Club)

WMS's very own a capella singing group, Big Treble is looking for new members! All grade levels are welcome. Last year we created our own arrangements to some popular songs and performed at the Talent Show and a teacher gathering. This year we hope to expand our group and performance opportunities. We hope you will join us!

Algebra and Geometry (PM Club)

Do you need help? This is a "drop-in" club being offered to students currently enrolled in either Algebra or Geometry at WMS. Come hang out with us and do your homework with your friends, or get extra help on something you had trouble with in class or on a test.

Archery Club (PM Club)

The archery club is open to all levels of archers - from beginners to experienced. Come along and have fun learning a new sport or improving your skills. Designed to teach International-style target archery, this club will cover safety, technique, equipment, mental concentration and self-improvement.

Art Magazine (PM Club)

If you love to create art and want to see it published on our school website than this is the place for you. In Art Magazine we work as a group to write, draw, paint and design our very own magazine. Come learn about publishing and how a deisgn studio runs. Work with other students to create a magazine filled with your art.

Astronomy and the Night Sky (PM Club)

Do you know how fast you are moving through space, or how far away from Earth the closest star is? If you are curious about what's in the sky besides birds and airplanes, come join us. We will learn how to locate celestial objects in the night sky, watch for meteor showers, follow developments from NASA, and much more! Open to 8th graders.

Backstage Club (PM Club)

The students in the backstage club will learn to operate all audio and lighting equipment necessary for various school functions.

Board Games (PM Club)

Come join your friends by playing popular & time tested board games. This club will meet on Wednesdays.

Buddy to Buddy (PM Club)

This club provides an extension to the Character Education curriculum. The objective is to increase awareness and tolerance of students with disabilities, especially autism. Students will partner with students from the DLC . We will have pen pals, visits to each others' school, guest peakers, projects, community service.

Ceramics (PM Club)

If you love art and especially love working with your hands than this is the club for you. Students will have the opportunity to learn clay techniques, study art movements and develop skills which they can apply to the creation of pots and sculptures.

Chess Club Adventures (PM Club)

Chess Club Adventures is for students who already know how to play chess and who enjoy pairing up with peers to play a match. This is a club of friendly competitive fun where sportsmanship and kindness are expected. Chess club members will have an opportunity to optionally travel after school to various places so they can create a larger cadre of chess players in the community. It’s a CHESS ADVENTURE!!

Computer Programming and Gaming for 6th Grade (PM Club)

In the Computer Programming and Gaming for 6th Grade students will focus on collaboration and working together as teams. Students will use Minecraft to build projects with their peers. In the second half of the club, students will learn basic JavaScript programming using Minecraft Education edition.

If you love to make crafts this club is for you! You will have the opportunity to learn and or improve your creativity and social skills while creating a product you can take pride in .

Heart 2 Heart Projects -- Made with love for people in need (PM Club)

The Heart 2 Heart Projects club will focus on making practical craft items to give to community organizations for people in need. You will learn and practice skills like simple hand stitching, creative cutting, artistic design, and crocheting to make scarves, blankets, tote bags, and other items to contribute to existing organizations like the Peyton Heart Project to counter bullying and uplift community members, the Warm Your Heart Project for the homeless, Derek’s Hugs for kids with cancer, and other local organizations that club members identify and choose to make items for. Through club projects, participants will develop social awareness and practical skills, identify and meet needs in the local and regional community, and spread joy through creativity and giving.

Jazz Band (AM Club)

Jazz band is a combination of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. It is a great opportunity to learn to play in a Jazz style and improvise. Students will sign up to audition for the Jazz band on any of the following instruments: Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drumset. Each student that signs up will receive audition music to prepare for a guide audition. Jazz band is a great opportunity to play some fun exciting music in an additional ensemble.

Kindness Club (PM Club)

Kindness Club is a student organization that will strive to spread kindness and happiness to every corner of WMS. All Students are welcome to join our club and implement acts of kindness, big and small, at WMS. The club will meet as a group to put together small projects and nice gestures for our school community.

Lights! Camera! Action! (PM Club)

Lights! Camera! Action! is a club that is great for anyone who likes to write and act. Students will collaborate to create their own skits or commercials and have so much fun in the process! Comedians are welcome! We will record our skits and hopefully share our work with others. Lights! Camera! Action! has already been offered at Summer Fun for many years, but this is the first year it's a club at WMS!

Mind-Body_Spirit Teens (PM Club)

“When the mind, body and spirit work as one anything is possible,” Criss Angel. Join us on an amazing 30 week journey to learn how to become the best you that you can be. Through physical, mindful, and creative activities we will learn about each other from each other. Open to all grade levels and types of students. We plan to take a fun field trip at the end of the year incorporating all that we have learned.

Mock Trial Club (PM Club)

Mock Trial Club is designed to introduce 8th grade students to our legal system by providing a challenging, academic club. The club offers students the opportunity for personal growth and achievement, emphasizing the importance of research, presentation and teamwork while delving into legal issues. In addition to teaching students about contemporary public issues and the legal system, the club encourages students to develop learning partnerships with high school mock trial students from Watchung Hills Regional High School and local law enforcement professionals.

Pep Club (PM Club)

Do you like to plan parties and events? Are you someone who loves fun? If so, come out and join the Pep Club. We plan and run school-wide events to make WMS a fun, lively and spirited place! Some of our previous events include a Halloween Costume Contest, a Thanksgiving Turkey Hunt and Find the Leprechaun's gold. The Pep Club decides which events to hold, so if you want a say in fun things happening around school, the Pep Club is for you!

Student Tech Club (PM Club)

The STC (Student Tech Club) is a club open to any students in grades 6-8 interested in technology that would like to further investigate and assist others with usage. This club will support the STS (Student Tech Support) Team in its initiatives by trying out new programs, apps and extensions that might be adopted for Middle School use. STC will create screencast videos that can support staff and students in the Middle School. The club will also share their own knowledge in coding, programming and 3D design to learn from each other. We will make use of the 3D printer and try out any new tools that are acquired at Middle- join us!

Studio Art for 7th and 8th Graders (PM Club)

Welcome to WMS's 1st Art Studio space. This club is designed around the needs of everyone, from beginners to skilled artists interested in furthering developing their craft. Through the study of charcoal and painting techniques, extraordinary results will be attainable to any student in this warm and welcoming environment of like minded artisans. “Great artists are not born, they are trained.” Come in to discover this truth for yourself.

Thursday Homework Help Club (PM Club)

Homework Help Club is designed for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades who would like to work on, receive assistance in completing homework assignments, or to study for upcoming quizzes/tests. The quiet, working environment allows students to focus on completing their academic work before heading home for the day.

This club provides students with a quiet environment, free of distractions in which to complete their homework. The club offers the help of adults if/when the student has questions or doesn’t understand their homework. In addition, textbooks are readily available for students to use.

Wednesday Homework Help (Fall) (PM Club)

The goal/objective of this club was to provide students with a quiet environment, free of distractions in which to complete their homework. The club offers the help of adults if/when the student has questions or doesn’t understand their homework. In addition, textbooks are readily available for students to use and they are able to return to their locker for any work they may have forgotten to pack up in order to get their work done. Many students were able to complete their homework during club time and those who weren’t able to do so, had very little work to do at home.

Wednesday Homework Help (Spring) (PM Club)

This club will support students at all grade levels in their efforts to complete and check their homework. We will also provide guidance with organizing materials in order for students to be more productive and less stressed. Our clasroom will provide a quiet environment for our students. We will provide help for students in all academic areas and will also be in touch with their teachers as necessary to ensure that assignments are worked on during club time.

Yoga Club (PM Club)

This club is being offered to give students a chance to learn and practice yoga. It is an opportunity to slow down and learn the basic yoga poses as well as breathing techniques, which help reduce stress and increase flexibility and strength. Students will especially enjoy the relaxation time at the end (or the beginning!) of our practice to unwind from the busy pace of everyday life!
