Cross Country

The Cross Country travel team had another successful meet yesterday in Summit. There were 7 teams with over 175 participants. Of the top ten girls to finish, Sari Berman came in second, Maria Pontoriero came in third, Naina Raju came in 9th and Lily Finkelstein came in 10th. Of the top ten boys, David Wu came in 7th.

We will have practice for all cross country team members today after school until late busses at 4PM.

Boys soccer

Yesterday, the boys soccer team defeated Ridge 5-0.

Once again, a strong defense provided opportunities for the offense to shine. Cesar Miranda scored the first goal of the game. Also finding the back of the net were Dillon Jalota, JP Fernandez, Matthew Machado, and our goalie Matt DuBois scored a goal playing as a center midfielder. Well done boys! No practice today.

Girls soccer

The girls soccer team went to battle with WAMS yesterday. It was back and forth the whole first half before Ridge scored from long range at the end of the first half. Our warren girls came out strong in the second half scoring two goals in the first five minutes. Alyssa Hammoud scored on a breakaway and Olivia Bello assisted Lexi Traister for a long range lefty goal. Serafina Purpora was on fire in goal making multiple diving saves plus some great acting skills. The girls came out victorious with a final score of 2-1! Great team performance girls!!!

Winter sports

Winter sports sign ups will begin in Genesis on October 1st. The Winter sports available are Boys and Girls Basketball.

The deadline for signups and sports physical submissions is October 31st. All NJ State Sports Physical forms must be turned in by October 31st in order for the School M.D. to approve them prior to tryouts.

Sports forms cannot be emailed. All forms must be dropped off directly to the school to the attention of the School Nurse in the Health Office or uploaded into Genesis using the medical document upload portal.

If you have already submitted a physical for this year that is still current within 365 days,  then a Health History Update is all that is required to be submitted.

Everyone trying out, must have either a current sports physical submitted, or on file with the submission of a health history update form.

All forms are found on the WMS website under activities and athletics;  sports information and sports dates

Your student athletes' approval will be reflected in Genesis. All student athletes must be approved PRIOR to tryouts.
