 Week of Respect

 

The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act  designates the week beginning the first Monday in October of each year as a “Week of Respect” in New Jersey. This week we will recognize this with theme days. Please note that Tuesday, students are encouraged to wear their grade level color: grade 6 is blue, grade 7 is red and grade 8 is white.

The Cross  Country team had an amazing meet against Greenbrook on Friday. Of the top five female finishers, four were WMS runners with Sari Berman coming in first, Maria Pontoriero coming in second, Claire Wu coming in third and Leyla Turakhonova coming in fifth. The boys also had four of the top five finishers with David Wu coming in first, Kai Yang coming in third, Ethan Chibwe coming in fourth and Michael Wang coming in fifth.  Great job team!

 

We will have practice on Tuesday and Thursday (October 5 and 7) this week until late busses at 4:00.

 

Our first home meet is Wednesday, October 6 against Greenbrook. All members are encouraged to participate. Spectators are welcome. Please come support the team!

All Club requests have been processed. Permission slips will be sent to the Student Center by 3:00 this afternoon. Please return signed permission slips to Mrs. Decelle in room 14. You must return a signed permission slip before you can stay for a club. Clubs start tomorrow, Tuesday, October 5. Late buses will be available for after-school clubs at 3:50 pm. Supervision is provided after school until 4:00 pm or until the last late bus leaves. Late bus lists will be posted in the APR if you do not know which late bus you should take home. Winter sports

 

Winter sports sign ups will begin in Genesis on October 1st. The Winter sports available are Boys and Girls Basketball.

 

The deadline for signups and sports physical submissions is October 31st. All NJ State Sports Physical forms must be turned in by October 31st in order for the School M.D. to approve them prior to tryouts.

 

Sports forms cannot be emailed. All forms must be dropped off directly to the school to the attention of the School Nurse in the Health Office or uploaded into Genesis using the medical document upload portal.

 

If you have already submitted a physical for this year that is still current within 365 years,  then a Health History Update is all that is required to be submitted.

Everyone trying out, must have either a current sports physical submitted, or on file with the submission of a health history update form.

All forms are found on the WMS website under activities and athletics;  sports information and sports dates

 

Your student athletes' approval will be reflected in Genesis. All student athletes must be approved PRIOR to tryouts.
