Boys soccer:

In a close game, the boys soccer team defeated JP Case 2-1 yesterday. Excellent goaltending by Matt Dubois and a great defense kept a scoreless tie until Omar Mohallim scored a goal to take the lead 1-0.  The game winner was scored by Antonio Giuliano who, in the last 5 minutes of the game, switched from center back to striker and scored the game winning goal. Well done boys.  There will be practice today.

Club Requests are Open

Attention students! Today is the last day to submit your After School Club request. Club requests will close today at 11:59pm. Requests can be made in the student center. After School Club requests are currently open and will go until Thursday, September 30, at 11:59 pm in the student center. Directions for requesting clubs were shared with families earlier this week. Clubs and late buses will start on Tuesday, October 5. Please see Mrs. Decelle in room 14 with questions.

The cross country team will have practice after school today. Please meet in the gym after school. Practice will end at 4 PM. You must have a ride home. The travel team will have their first away meet at Greenbrook tomorrow.

Winter sports

Winter sports sign ups will begin in Genesis on October 1st. The Winter sports available are Boys and Girls Basketball.

The deadline for signups and sports physical submissions is October 31st. All NJ State Sports Physical forms must be turned in by October 31st in order for the School M.D. to approve them prior to tryouts.

Sports forms cannot be emailed. All forms must be dropped off directly to the school to the attention of the School Nurse in the Health Office or uploaded into Genesis using the medical document upload portal.

If you have already submitted a physical for this year that is still current within 365 years,  then a Health History Update is all that is required to be submitted.

Everyone trying out, must have either a current sports physical submitted, or on file with the submission of a health history update form.

All forms are found on the WMS website under activities and athletics;  sports information and sports dates

Your student athletes' approval will be reflected in Genesis. All student athletes must be approved PRIOR to tryouts.

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is an international contest that encourages children, ages 11-13, to creatively express what peace means to them.  The 2021-22 theme is “We are all connected.”  The contest allows students to share their unique image of peace with others, so that we may all have greater tolerance and international understanding.

The contest is open to students who will be 11, 12, or 13 years of age before November 15th.  Entries are due to Mrs. Cooper by November 3rd.

A document of details is posted in the E3 Google Classrooms. Or you can stop by room 32 for more details.
