Chinatown Update

The trip to Chinatown is FULL. If you would like to be placed on a waiting list, please see Mrs. Cooper. Thank you for your interest in this cultural experience!

 

Student Government Association (SGA)

The first Warren Middle School Student Government Association (SGA) meeting will be held Wed. October 16th from 2:50 - 3:50, in the Home Arts room. Students from all grades are welcome.

 

Interested students must see Mrs. MacGorman’s website from the permission slip and all the details.

Remember October is all about perspective taking and understanding another point of view. Are you working on taking a minute to consider another perspective? Think about it....

 

Poster Contest

If any student at the middle school would like to create and submit a poster for the International Lions Club’s Peace Poster Contest, please stop by Mrs. Cooper’s room 32 for more information. You can also get this information in Mrs. Lettire’s and Mrs. Ronkiewicz’s classrooms.

 This year’s theme is “Journey of Peace”. The deadline for submissions is October 31st.

 


 

Sport Announcements

 

Cross Country

The Cross Country Team had another successful outing yesterday at the Summit Invitational. With over 700 competitors, nine medals were earned by WMS students! They are: Kathryn Flanigan, Sari Berman, Keya Patel, Mia Pucci, Martyna Kubicz, Lily Finkelstein, Zach Morrison, Dylan Blekicki and Andrew Conway. Great job!

 

Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team defeated Redington yesterday, 3-1. Goals were scored by Luka Goncalves, Ben Dubois, and Alex Carnevale. Come out and watch the team  play Branchburg at home today. 

 

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team had another stellar performance on Thursday beating Readington 8-0.  Goals scored by Mama Clintock, Elsa the Ice Queen, Ellie Woj, Meggles, Nina Bina, The Jet, Smily Dayra and Lil Woj.  It was a great team effort. The next game is today at Branchburg. (No early dismissal)



Winter Sports

If your child is trying out for a Winter sport and they have already submitted a physical exam form for Fall sports that is current, they still need to submit a health history update form. This is a State of N.J. requirement. Parents must submit a health history update for all sports, every season, AFTER a completed current sports physical has been submitted.

 

Sign ups will be open  through October 15th.

 

All sports forms (Complete physical exam forms or Health history update forms, for those students who already have current physical exams in place) are due into the health office by October 15, 2019.

 

No Sports Forms will be accepted after October 15th.  There will be no exceptions to this deadline.  All forms must be in the Health Office by October 15th.

PTO News

 

Important PTO Event Dates

Next PTO Meeting:- October 22nd at 9am.

7th Grade Rec Event :- 18th October

6th Grade Rec Event :- 25th October - come have a fun social  with your grade !

Both events will be after school from 3pm-4pm  in the APR / Gym and possibly outside weather permitting.  Flyers were emailed out and are posted on IG and the PTO website along with permission slips and the sign-up genie.

 

Fooddays:- cycle 2 is open and remains open for food orders until October 17th. This covers lunch items for November and December. Order your lunch items now!!

Somerset Youth Council

Attached please find two flyers in reference to the Somerset County Youth Council.

  • The first is a registration form for the 23rd Youth Conference that is being held on Thursday, October 17th from 5:30pm-9:00pm. Pre Registration is required. Open to all students in Grades 7-12.

  • The second is information pertaining to becoming a member of the Somerset County Youth Council. Membership is open to all students in Grades 7-11.
