Today is Day A
A reminder today is Character Ed day. Today’s focus asks, “what does it mean to be humble?” Here’s one definition to think about from C.S. Lewis: “True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.” Thanks to Mrs. Acciarito for sharing. Have a great day and remember to BE KIND to each other.
The library is closed during all Guides today. Please do not send students down for Guides. ~ Mrs. Cassidy

Somerset County Freeholder Deputy Director Patricia L. Walsh invites girls in grades seven and eight to apply to the Commission on the Status of Women’s fourth annual STEM program. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School located on Vogt Drive. The program is limited to 90 girls. The deadline to apply is Oct. 4.
The STEM program is specifically designed to encourage and prepare seventh- and eighth-grade girls for successful careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
This is an excellent opportunity for girls to learn about technical disciplines while developing valuable team-building skills. They will also have the chance to interact with a panel of successful STEM women who will provide insights, answer questions and discuss possible mentoring opportunities.
Participants will play educational games, win prizes, interact with mentors who are successful STEM members, and enjoy a lunch that will be provided at the event. The free event is open to Somerset County residents ONLY. Applications must be received by Oct. 4. To obtain an application form visit www.co.somerset.nj.us/STEM. Send a completed application form to SCCOSW.STEM2019@gmail.com.
