Week of Good Choices
✏️ Handwriting
We are continuing to practice a good pencil grip, good sitting posture, and forming letters from the top and at our starting corner. Students learned uppercase N and M using big lines down, big lines sliding down, big lines sliding up, and “frog jumps.” We will review the Frog Jump Capitals: F, E, D, P, B, R, N, M.
🔢 Math
In Lesson 5, students compared groups of objects and numbers up to 5 and recognized that each counting number is one more than the last number. Key words used: more, less or same.
📖 Sight Words
This week’s new words are see, are & can.
Previously introduced words: and, a, is, I, me, the, you, we.
Please practice reading the words in your child’s composition book each night. Students should recognize these words; they do not need to spell them.
🎃 Halloween: October 30
- 1:00 p.m.: Classroom party—homeroom parents only.
- 2:00 p.m.: Schoolwide parade—all families are welcome!
- Around 2:30 p.m.: Optional pickup after the parade.
- If you plan to take your child home, please complete this form by October 29.
