Dear ALT Community, 

Dan Gutman visited ALT on January 31st, and it was truly a special day for everyone.  Dan has written over 100 books, and is one of the most read authors in the library.  The children were excited to meet him, as they have been reading his books for years!  In preparation for his visit, the members of the after school My Weird School Club made weird characters to decorate the hallways.  Dan laughed when he saw the funny decorations.  

The ALT PTO was pivotal in making this special day a success.  Not only did the PTO fund the visit, but they purchased one of Dan's books for each student in the school!  The Author Visit Committee, headed by Mrs. Morales and Mrs. Bellman, also worked tirelessly to coordinate travel arrangements, plan a luncheon in the library, and order and distribute all the books.  

Dan was noticeably pleased with the efforts of all, and really had a wonderful day!  Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this happen!
