Extended Day Program Parent LetterSkip Navigation
To the Parents/Guardians of ___________________________:
Due to a recommendation from the building’s I&RS team, it has been determined that your child would benefit from Extended Day Instruction services to improve his/her skills in the areas of math or reading.
Upon entering the program, district administered assessments will be used to determine specific needs. Assessments will be administered throughout the year to determine student progress and/or readiness to exit the program. Students will be offered two or more periods of additional instruction per week with a certificated teacher.
The additional periods will take place before or after school at a time that has been mutually agreed upon between you and the instructor. The sessions must take place on school grounds unless other arrangements have been made. The success of the program is contingent on regular attendance at each scheduled session.
All instructors are certificated teachers. The extended day sessions are funded through Federal Title 1-A and ESSER II funds. There will be not cost to you for the additional sessions. Communication between parents, classroom teachers, and the extended day instructors will remain constant. The building coordinator will reach out to you to arrange a schedule for additional classes. Research-based programs will be utilized to support student learning.
We look forward to working with your child.
