Background

Dr. Hartman is one of the district school psychologists and the former behavior specialist of the district.  She works closely with the Child Study Teams, counselors, administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals of special education students who have behavioral challenges.  She also conducts psychological evaluations as part of the Child Study Team and was formerly the psychologist at Warren Middle School. Dr. Hartman is also a certified CPI Instructor for Warren Township and trains staff to use CPI nonviolent physical crisis interventions.  She received her doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University in 2005. She also holds a Masters degree in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Rutgers College, Rutgers University. 

Prior to graduation, she completed her doctoral internship at YCS Institute for Infant and Preschool Mental Health and continued to stay on as a consulting psychologist until 2009. Dr. Hartman has also completed an externship at Morristown Memorial Hospital working with forensic child abuse cases as well as internships at local school districts. She was employed at a high school previous to joining Warren's staff in 2006. She was also a Coordinator for Douglass Outreach, responsible for developing and implementing ABA home programming for children with autism as well as supervising the consultants who tutored them. She has worked with children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities since 1997.  Her doctoral dissertation research was in the area of educational programming for children with autism.

Dr. Hartman is also a NJ licensed psychologist in the areas of clinical child and adolescent psychology and school psychology. She has a private practice in Somerville specializing in psychotherapy, consultation, and psychological/psychoeducational evaluations. She has supervised doctoral students, both privately and in the Warren school district.
