Mrs. Tara Keller's Preschool Class

 

We follow the Creative Curriculum for Preschool.  Preschool materials/toys are thoughtfully selected for classroom centers and each individual student, to facilitate each child's growth in the following areas of development and learning:

 

 

 

 Social-Emotional, Physical, Language, Cognitive,

Literacy and Mathematics

 

The Preschool Team for Mrs. Keller's classes include:

Preschool Gross Motor Activities-

   Please help your child be best prepared for the daily weather. 

   Some of the activities the children participate in outside include: 

  

                                            -lining up outside at arrival and dismissal

                                            -playing on the playground

                                            -outside gross motor exercises

                                            -taking walks to observe nature and the environment

 

• For the playground and gross motor exercises, we are asking that the children to please wear sneakers to participate.  
• Children will need sneakers everyday since movement exercises are part of our daily routine.  *Shoes such as Croc type shoes or sandals, are not preferred on the playground, as there are wood chips that easily get into the open shoes.   
• If your child does not come to school wearing sneakers, please send a pair of sneakers in their backpack each day.  We will plan to help your child become, as independent, as possible to manage putting their sneakers on and changing back when done.  
• Cold weather reminders- Please send clothing appropriate to the daily weather.  It is helpful to pack items in your child's backpack, if your child might not need them, when on their way to school, but may need them if playing outside (i.e. pack mittens and a hat in your child's backpack.  *It would be a great help if you could please label your child's clothing items with their name).
• 
• Warm weather reminders- We try to go outside to play as weather permits.  If your child needs sunscreen to play outside, we ask that you please apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school.  

   

Preschool Snacks/Health and Allergies

     We maintain a nut-free classroom environment. 

We encourage you to send in a water container for your child to bring to school each day.  Typically, the children take a water break after gross motor/playground play. 

*Due to severe allergies in our class, we ask that you have your child wash their hands before coming to school.  Thank you!  

    Our goal is for all our children to be safe during our fun learning activities.

Friday, April 3-Friday, April 10-     All Warren Township Schools Closed (Spring Recess) 

Thursday, April 23-   Bring your child to work day (Children who are in school may have the opportunity to

                                   get to know some of their teachers children!)

Upcoming Kindergarten Parents attend Kindergarten Orientation with their child, at their home school

Tuesday, May 19 -ALT Kindergarten Orientation, time? 

Wednesday, May 20- Mt Horeb Kindergarten Orientation 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

                                    -Central School Kindergarten Orientation, 9:30 a.m. (tentative) 

Friday, May 22- All Warren Township Schools- Half Day (Staff Development)

Monday, May 25- Memorial Day (All Warren Township Schools Closed)

Friday, May 29-  Mt Horeb Field Day (Wear your Mt Horeb Shirt, apply sunscreen at home before school, bring

                            water bottle, dress for outdoor activities and apply bug spray to children, if preferred)

Monday, June 1- Mt Horeb Field Day Rain Date 

June 2026- Preschool Moving up ceremony for upcoming Kindergarten Students in September 2026
