1) Homework
There will be a math worksheet that goes home every day. Please complete both sides and return to school the next day.
2) Reading Around the Room:
Our second graders will soon be participating in a reading incentive program entitled Reading Around the Room. The class will be rewarded for its combined reading efforts. Each Monday a Reading Log will be distributed so your child can record the amount of time spent reading each night. I suggest fifteen minutes at the beginning of the year as a nightly routine. Please initial the amount read nightly so your child can contribute to the group effort. This Reading Log will come home each night and be returned to school the next day. We will be starting this program shortly so be on the lookout for your child’s Reading Log.
3) Snack Break:
One healthy snack is permitted daily. We are a nut free classroom. A snack break will be given at about 10:15 each morning.
