You may know me as the Innovation and Design teacher, but I am also certified in K-8 education and have had previous experience in teaching Social Studies at WMS. During the Hybrid 1.0 approach, I am partnering with Mr. Arnold in teaching 7th Grade Social Studies.
What do we do in 7th grade social studies?
In 7th grade social studies we are committed to world history and the geography of Europe, Africa, and Asia, including the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. We will be using teacher and online materials that will be enhanced with the History of Our World textbook. The curriculum is filled with exciting events and information and we are looking forward to a great year!
These are the major topics we will cover this year in social studies:
Middle East and religion of Islam (Chapters 10,22)
South Asia - India and Pakistan (Chapters 13, 16, 22)
Hinduism and Buddhism
Chinese Dynasties - Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming
Confucianism and Taoism
Research Projects throughout the year
