When you come to a word you do not know, try the reading tricks below:

Put your finger under the first letter, then say the sound it makes.

Find a part you know.

Have I seen it before? 

Could it be a Sight Word? 

Does it look right?

Does it sound right?

Does it make sense when you read it in the story?
