Accelerating Student Academic Progress (ASAP)

Grade 1-5

The ASAP Reading Program offers targeted literacy instruction for students in grades 1 through 5. It's designed for children who need more focused practice on foundational reading skills beyond the scope of grade level instruction.

This differentiated support is a coordinated effort between our ASAP teachers and classroom teachers. Students receive intensive pull-out intervention when it's determined they'll benefit from additional support. We regularly assess student growth to decide whether to continue intensive instruction or transition to a classroom-based intervention.

In the program, specialized educators work directly with students on key reading components. While these foundational areas are a primary focus in ASAP, your child will continue to develop comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills within their regular classroom.

A variety of instructional tools, including grade-level assessments and relevant data, to understand each child's literacy strengths and areas for growth. This helps determine which students will benefit most from this additional support.
