Every week, students look forward to “Fabulous Friday”.  We listen to an educational rap song (Flocabulary www.flocabulary.com) about the current events of the week and discuss them in depth. 

We missed the Flocabulary/NY Times 2013 Year in Rap contest on account of winter break and snow, but we didn’t let that stop us!  Students selected cooperative groups to work in and create a rap song about the top news stories of 2013, either overall or based on a particular topic like sports.  Our esteemed panel of judges (myself, Mr. Sutherland, and Mrs. Lamson) selected the best rap song in each social studies period.
