The mission of the Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) Program is to provide a structured, supportive, and emotionally responsive environment that empowers students to develop the self-regulation, coping, and interpersonal skills necessary for success in school and beyond. Through individualized support, consistent expectations, and a positive classroom culture, the ERI program fosters emotional growth, academic engagement, and readiness for a less restrictive educational setting.

- Promote emotional regulation and self-awareness by helping students identify their feelings, recognize triggers, and apply coping strategies in real time.
- Increase academic engagement through a predictable, differentiated environment that supports focus, persistence, and task initiation.
- Foster positive peer and adult relationships by teaching and reinforcing prosocial behaviors, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Develop individual responsibility and goal setting through a point-based behavior system and personalized goal tracking.
- Support generalization and reintegration by preparing students to access the general education setting with increasing independence and confidence.
- Partner with families to ensure consistency between school and home and to celebrate progress.
