Week on October 27th

Reading: This week we are reading books and discussing way we can add on one another's thinking. We read the book Mountain Chef and will be using that for our discussions. We will also be breaking the story down and using it it to respond to journal prompts. 

Reading Logs: Please remember that students should read 20 minutes each night M-F and one day on the weekend. The logs should be filled in and signed each night. We changed to a weekly log since many students were not completing the monthly log. The logs will be counted as homework and missed homework slips will be sent out if they are not completed. 

Writing: We completed Unit 2 and the students are sharing their pieces with their classmates. Out next unit is Personal Narratives. The students will begin writing real stories about themselves. 

Math: We began Lesson 7 which covers multiplying by 7, 8, and 9. We will have our quiz on Thursday.

Monday-  Homework 163-164. Tuesday- Homework 169-170.  Wednesday Homework p.175-176. Thursday Quiz. Homework 1 sheet

Social Studies: We will be finishing up locating the oceans and continents on a map. We will be having a quiz on Thursday. Next we will discuss where we are in the world, contient, state, town etc.
