This year I will be back to working with First and Second Graders as part of our ASAP (Accelerating Student Academic Progress) program. I am very excited to be a part of your child's literacy journey. I look forward to working together to foster a love of reading in students while building fluency, comprehension, and very importantly, confidence.
I will meet with students daily, working on familiar texts, new texts, and word work. I will send books nightly for students to practice fluency and comprehension. This is an important part of the daily work students must do to practice. I encourage students to make reading a habit, and I suggest they read to parents, siblings, and once in a while even pets! Let's work together to make reading an exciting part of each day!
