This year, I will be working with kindergarten through third-grade students as part of our ASAP (Accelerating Student Academic Progress) program. I am very excited to be a part of your child's literacy journey!
I look forward to working together to foster a love of reading in students while targeting each learner's needs in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and, very importantly, confidence.
In class every day, students engage in word work, explore reading (including cumulative practice of sound patterns and high-frequency words), and explore new texts. They will have a book to bring home nightly for decoding and fluency practice. Students should read to an adult, sibling, or even a pet or stuffed animal!
