Meanwhile, many children lack the necessary social skills to maintain meaningful friendships. Their social difficulties can lead to problems with depression, decreased motivation, and poor academic performance This workshop will help parents and teachers learn a set of social skills to provide consistent support for children���s social functioning that bridges the gap between school and home. In this workshop, parents and teachers will begin to become effective ���Social Coaches��� for children to help them flourish and reach their fullest potential. Topics will include: ��� Conversational Skills ��� Choosing Appropriate Friends ��� Appropriate Use of Humor ��� Entering/Exiting Conversations ��� Get-togethers ��� Good Sportsmanship ��� Teasing, Bullying, and Embarrassing Feedback ��� Rumors and Gossip ��� Handling Disagreements About the Speaker Ethan Ehrenberg, Ph.D. is a post-doctoral fellow at the New York University���s Child Study Center and graduate of the Fairleigh Dickinson University Clinical Psychology program. He specializes in evidence-based individual and family treatments for children and adolescents with anxiety, mood, and behavioral disorders. He works both in Hackensack, NJ and Manhattan, NY office
