Morning Announcements

WMS Daily Student Wellness Check should be completed everyday by 7:35 AM.

Attendance and Instructional Model Reminders Students are expected to attend in-person school on their assigned days. When they are unable to attend in-person school, parents must request a child absence in the Genesis Parent Portal. An absence should be requested for a child in any cohort that cannot participate in school on a given day. You can access this feature on the Summary Screen of the Student Data tab. Detailed instructions can be found here. Teachers will follow district procedures for make up work for absent students. Switching from in-person school to distance learning is not a daily option. Any requests to change instructional models must follow district procedures outlined below.

Please note that Board of Education policy requires parents to give a minimum of 30 days’ notice for a requested instructional model change.

This weekend, our 7th grade quiz bowl team (Michael McAusland, Michael Wang, Clare Peng & Darren Xu) underwent a grueling 10 hours of tournament play in a national academic bowl competition. Today (Sunday), they were given three categories to take on 6-questions in a rapid fire section of the tournament.

Great job!

Last Wednesday (before the storm), 14 of our 8th graders competed in the 2nd Annual WMS Virtual Forensics Competition.

Forensics (public speaking) is the process or act of performing a speech to a live audience. This type of speech is deliberately structured with three general purposes: to inform, to persuade and to entertain.

Our students have been preparing since October and finally had a chance to perform their pieces in front of seven seasoned judges, including our own RICKY BARDY!! Thank you, Ricky for your time and talents again! Other judges included WMS alumni, Neelesh Thanasegaran & Inica Kotasthane, Arianna Salerno from Mount St. Mary, former high school forensics champ, Joe Donohue, plus Mrs. Cirrotti's children, Connor & Colleen. Such an amazing group effort ~

Do you have a library card for the Somerset County Library System?

SCLSNJ library cards allow students to access not only the physical materials that are in all ten of the branches, but also the eBook and eAudiobook collections, as well as the databases and other digital resources (including test prep, language learning, and more!).

If you do not have a card yet, it’s easy to get one! Ask your parent or caregiver to fill out the form, and SCLSNJ will mail the library card to the student’s home.
