From the Principal's Desk

Welcome to the Angelo L. Tomaso School where we Foster A Love of Learning. As a community of children, parents and educators we seek to provide our students with an educational environment that is enriched, safe, stable and productive. Our goal is to maintain an instructional setting that stimulates curiosity and sensitizes children to the world in which they live. To achieve these objectives, there are many shared opportunities in all aspects of the teaching/learning process. All the members of our educational community therefore share some role in providing our students with programs and surroundings that will encourage and enrich their love of learning.

This year ALT will be participating in a district initiative to promote 21st Century Fluency. The staff will focus on ways to fuse the rich curriculum and content areas with the four C’s of 21st Century Skills. These skills include: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving; Communication; Collaboration; and Creativity and Innovation. It will be an exciting time to examine and re-invent how we deliver instruction to prepare our young learners for jobs of the future.

ALT is supported by an active PTO which provides enriching activities to support areas of the curriculum. Several assembly programs are scheduled during the school year, such as: a Laser Show; The Franklin Institute; Mayhem Poets; Mother Nature and a Colonial Experience. Family events are also scheduled throughout the year such as: Trick-or-Trunk; Movie Night; and a Somerset Patriot’s Baseball Night.
