From the Principal’s Desk:
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Warren Middle School where we strive to provide each child with with
an education from one of the best middle schools in the state of New Jersey.
Warren is proud of the tradition of educational excellence that is provided.
Warren Middle School is a building comprised of grades 6, 7, and 8 with an
enrollment of approximately 700 students and a staff of 90. The educational
staff includes regular and special education teachers, guidance counselors,
child team members, paraprofessionals, secretaries, and custodians. The facility
was built in 1973 with classrooms being added on in 1998 and 2001. The recent
addition added 18 instructional spaces onto the building, as well as a new
gymnasium. The all purpose room, health office, library and main office have
also been renovated to reflect the newest in design, and to meet the demands of
an ever expanding school population.
The academic program offers a variety of classes with all students studying the
core curriculum in the the areas of language arts, science, math, social
studies, and world language (French or Spanish). Students also take physical
education and participate in a cycled program of art, music, computers, study
skills, critical thinking, technology, health, and reading at grades 6 and 7.
Eighth grade students have an elective period where students currently select 4
out of 7 choices for the year. The choices include Critical Thinking, Web
Design, Style and Design, History of 20th Century Music, Junior Engineering,
Literary Investigations, Designing Art.
The guidance staff and child study team staff offer support for all students.
Character building is large part of the emphasis of the school as all staff
members are concerned about each and every child's welfare.
The Warren Board of Education also supports a wide variety of after-school
programs available to students on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week.
I believe that you will find your child's experience at Warren Middle School to
be an educationally fruitful one where each child grows socially, emotionally,
and intellectually.
Sincerely,
Robert W. Comba
