The Week of Respect
October 3-7th, 2011
As a part of our ongoing efforts to promote good character and a positive school climate, each school will celebrate the Week of Respect. During the “Week of Respect,” students will examine ways to show respect towards families, peers, school, and their community. Each day will focus on a different school-wide topic. To increase enthusiasm, each day has a slogan, and students are encouraged to wear themed attire. Students will also participate in discussions and activities centered on these topics.
Monday, Oct. 3rd:
Daily slogan: “Rally for Respect”
Topic: The Meaning of Respect
- Students wear their favorite team shirt
Tuesday, Oct. 4th:
Daily slogan: “Hats off to Families”
Topic: Respect at Home
- Students wear hats
Wednesday, Oct. 5th:
Daily slogan: “Stand up for Others”
Topic: Respect towards Peers
- Students wear silly socks
Thursday, Oct. 6th:
Daily slogan: “We Love Our School”
Topic: Respect at School
- Students wear school t-shirts
Friday, Oct. 7th:
Daily slogan: “Going Green for the Environment”
Topic: Respect towards the Community and the Environment
- Students wear green
