Every effort shall be made to insure that transportation of pupils to and from school or to a field trip location be accomplished by use of Type I or Type II school bus vehicles driven by personnel who meet state school bus licensing requirements and are properly licensed.
In recommending arrangements for pupil transportation to and from school‑ related activities, the superintendent shall consider the type of activity, the total number of pupils involved, and the availability of appropriate vehicles. Should an emergency require, in the opinion of the superintendent of schools or his/her designee, use of a private vehicle to transport one or more pupils, the following requirements shall apply:
A. A driver who is an employee of Warren Township Board of Education who possesses a valid driver's license.
B. A private passenger vehicle of eight or fewer capacity, with a current NewJersey or other inspection sticker.
C. Evidence of current valid insurance for the vehicle.
D. Use of the vehicle of a private citizen shall be limited to transporting the child from school to home or to the police station if no one is at home.
